The Cannon Hotel
Brian and Petra Tissington began their career 25 years
ago at The Cannon Hotel, 30 Castle Street, in Sheffield city
centre.
Mulberry Tavern
With an interest in meeting people, they moved on 12 months
later to the Mulberry Tavern. This popular city centre pub was situated
under Walsh's, "the" city centre department store. They
stayed there for 2 years.
The Old Red Lion
Located on Selly Street, behind the City Hall, this became
their next choice, again staying for about 2 years.
The Hammer and Pincers at Bents Green
Up to now keeping and selling beer was the main aim,
but with attitudes changing and more customers wanting food
with their drinks, the Hammer and Pincers introduced Brian
and Petra to a whole new world of serving food with drinks.
A successful 4 years followed, and the Hammer and Pincers
soon became renowned as the place to eat.
The Castle at Castleton
A move to Derbyshire followed, and an introduction
to the tourist trade proved a popular decision. Building on
their previous success in catering Brian and Petra enjoyed
4 happy years in the Peak District.
The Dore Moor Inn
Seeing the potential in this "out of town"
location, Brian and Petra built up the reputation for good
food, honing their skills over the next 12 years, and becoming
very busy in the process, so busy if fact that they decided
it was time for a break, a rest, retirement............
The Poachers Arms
..............no chance, within 9 months, both were missing
meeting people and so started the search for another challenge.
Formerly known as The House of Anton, The Poachers Arms has an enviable
reputation for fine cuisine. In summer 2006, Brian and Petra began
creating a new life, in familiar surroundings. Old friends from
their many previous locations are returning to be welcomed along
with new customers, all know they are in for a special treat at
the Poachers Arms.
